Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown has shifted its first preview by three days. The starry show, based on Pedro Almodovar's Oscar-nominated film and headlined by Patti LuPone, Sherie Rene Scott and Brian Stokes Mitchell, will now begin performances on October 5 instead of the originally scheduled October 2. The reason for the change is that the creative team, led by Tony-winning director Bartlett Sher, needed "additional technical stage time." Opening night is still set for November 4 at the Belasco Theatre.
Set in late 20th-century Madrid, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown tells the story of the intertwining lives of a group of women (Scott, Aziza, Benanti, Lanzarone and LuPone) whose relationships with men lead to a tumultuous 48 hours of love, confusion and passion.
